Dr Kamel worked and studied in both Egypt and Australia. He was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree of Dental Science with honours in 2007 and practiced Orthodontics in public and private sectors from 2009 till 2015.He then moved to Australia in 2016 and became a member of Australian Dental Association.
In 2020, he moved to Western Australia to continue studying and research in the field of orthodontics. Dr.Kamel was awarded the Heagney-Cook Award for best research, Elsdon-Storey award for best orthodontic research in Australia and the Australian Orthodontic Board award for best clinical case for 2023.
His research interests focus on mini-screws and orthodontic/orthognathic surgery for the improvement of facial aesthetics. He also has special interest in inter-disciplinary management of TMD (chronic facial pain) and segmented mechanics to correct complex malocclusions.Dr.Kamel is also involved in teaching Orthodontics in the University of Melbourne.
Outside of work, he has a passion for music and playing soccer and tennis.
